Didn't know too much about these Generac inverter generators, but saw this Cabela's open box unit for an amazing $350! Box, manuals and accessories were all there. I topped off the oil with the supplied oil and added fresh fuel. Took it outside at 5 degrees F and it fired right up! High idle drifted a little until a load was connected. 1700 watt heater, no problem. Set it to ECO mode and it idled right down without the load. Ran several lights in this low idle mode. Awsome for the price. Nice and quiet.
This unit appears to be a revised one with the beefier choke lever. It had some oil in the bottom of the casing which I just brushed off as a messy oil drain from whomever returned it. As others have stated, you must use fresh or stabilized fuel and follow the starting directions for sucessful running and starts (i.e. pump the primer rod in the fuel cap with the fuel cap vent closed, then open the vent...you will hear a hiss, then use full choke, start it in high idle mode, then move the choke lever to half, about a minute later shut the choke off) Use Stabil fuel preservitive, it matters! Simple instructions to follow but many just don't get it. I would recommend this generator if you can understand a few mechanical procedures. If not pay (4) times as much.
